God’s Endless Love
Our Mission
To provide a quality preschool for 3-5 year old children and their families in a joyful Christian environment.
The Philosophy of Our Program
At Walnut Hills Preschool We Believe...
- Each child is a wonderful creation of God with their own special personality, interests, needs and abilities.
- Every child develops socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively at their own individual rate.
- Children learn best through play experiences, being actively involved in discovering, exploring, creating, and communicating.
- Learning is more fun and meaningful when all areas of curriculum are integrated with a weekly or daily theme and children’s literature.
- It is important to include experiences for language, math, science, social studies, art, creative dramatics, music and large and small physical motor each day.
- A balance of open-ended and teacher facilitated activities is important to meet the interests, development and needs of each child.
- Open - ended activities include: art, painting, dramatic play, blocks, science, sensory, manipulative play/concept games, book and listening area, writing center and physical motor and music activities.
- Teacher - facilitated activities: Gathering time, music and small group experiences, concept games, science and cooking activities, some large and small physical motor experiences, and Handwriting Without Tears writing experiences.
- It’s very important to evaluate the curriculum and overall program throughout and at the end of each year to continually meet the needs and interests of the children and families.
- Parents are a vital and fun part of our preschool program.
- It is important to create new and exciting experiences every year to keep the program fun and stimulating for the preschoolers, their families and the staff.
