Mercy and Justice

Walnut Hills United Methodist Church believes strongly that in order to be true to our calling to love God and our neighbor, we must work for both mercy and justice. We engage in acts of mercy when we provide assistance for those who are in immediate need of basic necessities – food, shelter, clothing, and other financial assistance. We engage in acts of justice when we question the policies and systems that keep people in cycles of hunger and poverty. As Christians, we believe that Jesus lived an example of both mercy and justice by showing compassion and speaking truth to power. We seek to follow this example.
