  • “500” Card Club: A monthly social activity for those who enjoy playing “500.” Contact Sue Brady at
  • Brunch Bunch: A social activity for women who enjoy having lunch together at noon on the third Sunday of the month. Contact Marge Putney at 225-6739
  • Charlie’s Group Ministry — Progressive discussion: A Progressive Theology discussion group, meeting every Thursday at 2 p.m. in the church library. Paul Swenson 216-1173 or
  • Needles of Love: We sew items for those in need. No sewing skills are required and all are welcome. Times and dates vary based on need. Contact Evelyn Varly at or Phyllis Peterson at
  • Walnut Hills Supper Club: An opportunity to socialize with other members while sharing a meal. These “round robin,” random groups help us become better acquainted. Dinner groups meet once a month. Contact Charlotte Smith at
  • Women of Walnut Hills: We’re a group of women that plan women’s activities on behalf of the church. Spa Day and Secret Pals are just a couple of the fun things that we do. We also support outreach programs, including the Angel Tree at Christmas for the Homes of Oakridge, Meals from the Heartland and school supply drives for UMCOR. Contact Sandy Lorenzen at 221-2999 or
  • Women’s Book Group: Enjoy reading and discussing various literature in a fun atmosphere. This group meets the first Tuesday evening of each month. Contact Kellie Kahle at
  • Women’s Night Out: An opportunity to share fun, food and fellowship the 3rd Monday of each month at a locally owned restaurant. Contact Peggy Palmer-Johnson at 577-4975 or
  • Recreational Activities
    • Co-ed volleyball: Join us on Sunday afternoons in the winter months at the church for casual, co-ed volleyball contact Marlyn & Connie McKeen at or 556-9432
    • Cyclepaths: Bicycle enthusiasts that get together to ride a few miles most weekends during the riding season. Contact Bob & Judy Myers at
