Pastor Cris joined Walnut Hills as lead pastor on July 1, 2021. He first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance, later going on to the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Since 1990, Pastor Cris has served at several churches throughout the United States, including Pennsylvania, California, and Iowa. Cris and his wife, Jennifer, are passionate about social justice issues, and have started food banks, led mission trips and began a thrift shop for those in need. Jennifer and Cris have three adult children, and they enjoy their dog and four cats, as well as traveling the world to learn more about different cultures.
Maggie Ostrander started in her current position in Aug. 2013. She and her husband, Josh, have two children: a daughter, Madylan, and a son, Judah. Maggie has bachelor’s degrees in vocal performance and church music and a master’s degree in music with a vocal emphasis. Prior to joining Walnut Hills UMC, Maggie served as the Director of Music at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Waterloo, Iowa. In her spare time, Maggie enjoys reading, exercising, singing, and spending time with her family.
