and grace for all people.

What is a Reconciling Church?

As a reconciling church, Walnut Hills believes in the sacred worth of all God’s children, and we are affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN). RMN is a United Methodist connection, working for the full participation of all LGBTQ+ people throughout the life and leadership of the Church.

We embrace Jesus’ message that God loves everyone and affirm that all persons are of sacred worth. We are proud to celebrate diversity of our community and world. At Walnut Hills, we seek to be a blessing to our neighbors both locally and globally, affirming that all people are created in the image of God. Together, we live out our faith by working to heal, restore, and reconcile all things as we follow Christ. We believe in the vision of John Wesley that even when we cannot think alike, we can love alike. With this love, we seek to be ensure that the church and community fully embrace all people just as God embraces us.

Our Statement of Inclusion:

We, the members of Walnut Hills UMC, welcome all individuals into the life of our faith community. We resolve to follow Jesus’ admonition to “love one another, as I have loved you”, regardless of age, race, ethnic background, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or any other human condition. As a reconciling congregation, we believe we are being reconciled to God and to one another.

To Our LGBTQ+ Siblings:

You are welcomed, affirmed, and celebrated at Walnut Hills.

We are committed to providing a welcoming, safe place of worship and community for you, your family, and your chosen family.

We seek to intentionally include LGBTQ+ persons in leadership roles within the congregation.

We aspire to resist oppression and discrimination in whatever forms it presents itself in our church and world.

With God’s help, we seek to extend God’s love to all God’s children.
